Happy Halloween and welcome Fall! It's hard to believe we're already jumping in to November and the holiday season is around the corner (55 days until Christmas - in case anyone is wondering!). Over the past month, your SMPS board and committee members have been hard at work developing program topics and fine-tuning some of our processes to give you the best value and experience possible. Expect to see some great new educational programming, networking events, and sponsorship opportunities announced in the coming months to ignite your professional development and help you transform your business through marketing leadership.
You asked, we listened. Our Communications Committee has developed a new email digest template to take the place of individual emails for each event or announcement. The SMPS Snapshot will come out every other Tuesday with updated event information and chapter news. We hope you like the new format and welcome any kudos or suggestions!
The Communications Committee has been working overtime to streamline our information and improve our communications channels - so a HUGE thank you to Michelle Mathewson, Marina Hill, Peggy Paulsen, and Rachael Osborn. You guys are rockstars!
Congrats to Megan Blackwell, CPSM - Forty Under 40
Speaking of rockstars, our own Megan Blackwell, CPSM with Otto Construction was honored by the Sacramento Business Journal as one of the region's brightest and most talented up-and-comers! Megan is our CPSM Study Group Chair and also serves on the Metro EDGE Leadership Council. She'll be honored on November 15th at the 2017 Forty Under 40 Awards hosted by the Business Journal. Congrats Megan!
Bold Brand Event Success!
The Bold Brand event, with special speaker Josh Miles, was such an informative and fun afternoon! In addition to Josh's excellent presentation, we had a wonderful time networking and enjoying happy hour drinks and snacks. I've been diving in to Josh's new book - Bold Brand 2.0 - and highly recommend it. It's truly a branding manual for AEC firms. Josh also hosts a new podcast called Obsessed with Design as well the PSM: Professional Services Marketing podcast.
Donations for North Bay Fire Victims
I want to thank all of you for your generous donations for the North Bay fire victims. We are working with a local Red Cross Fire Relief team to ensure these donations help those in need. We will be continuing our collections throughout the month of November as part of our Holiday Community Outreach effort, which will culminate in a special holiday happy hour. More information to come regarding the ongoing needs of our North Bay neighbors.
MARKETING MECHANICS - Infographics in InDesign

Then join us next Thursday, November 9th for a Marketing Mechanics workshop to learn about infographic elements and processes and how to create them in InDesign. Attendees will need to bring their own laptop computers with the Adobe Creative Suite software installed.
