The program will include panelists from leading healthcare providers in our community to discuss their current and future projects, lessons learned, upcoming opportunities, and how firms can do business with them.

About the Hosts:

 

Brett A. Mitchell, Ed.D (ABD), MEd, DBIA  | UC Davis Health
Director of Facilities Expansion.   Dr. Brett A. Mitchell is Director of Facilities Expansion at the University of California, Davis Health, where he manages a significant expansion effort for one of the nation’s premier Academic Medical Centers. As well, Dr. Mitchell teaches Project Management courses for the University’s extension program for its Construction Management certification classes. Dr. Mitchell is also the former Director of Facilities for the San Juan Unified School District where he managed a $2.4 Billion-dollar capital improvement effort with current bond authorization of $1.2 billion. Dr. Mitchell has an undergraduate degree in Construction Management. After several successful years in the construction industry, he left to teach math and physics. Brett then was a High School Principal, a Director of Facilities in San Juan and now a Director at UCDH. Brett’s post Graduate studies include a Master’s Degree in Education Administration and a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership. This unusual combination of experience has allowed Dr. Mitchell to manage university and school district capital improvement interests from educator, leader and builder mindset.

     
 

Robert O’Hare, DBIA | CommonSpirit Health  
Senior Level Healthcare Project Architect / Manager . As a Senior Level Healthcare Project Architect / Manager for National Real Estate Service - Planning l Design l Construction at CommonSpirit Health, Robert is delivering numerous and unique healthcare projects for one of the Largest Non-Profit Health System in the Nation. Robert provides for the coordination and management of all Capital Project Delivery efforts in his care, from administrative to technical solutions to assure the most efficient, cost-effective, on time completion and functional execution for all project types in a Healthcare delivery system. Consistent, annual delivery of the Capital funded plan as demonstrated and proven by 25+ years of professional Management, Leadership, Coordination, and Attention to detail and Communication of successful project delivery for the client. Robert is Licensed California Architect, DBIA certified, and DBIA acquisition strategy trained. He also enjoys time with his fiancé and grown daughters, cooking, skiing, hiking, kayaking, snow shoeing….basically anything outside.

The program will be moderated by David Nelson, Senior Vice President, Life Sciences, GLUMAC David is a Senior Vice President at Glumac, and is the Healthcare and Life Sciences Market Sector Leader. David is a licensed Electrical Engineer and has over 15 years of experience delivering high performance and sustainable buildings, as well as critical infrastructure for healthcare and life science clients throughout the United States. His recent projects include the UC San Diego Medical Center Hillcrest Outpatient Pavilion, the Kaiser Permanente Chino Grand Medical Office Building, and the critical infrastructure work at Kaiser Permanente campuses in West Los Angeles, Riverside, Panorama City, and Honolulu.
