2022 -2023 President's Farewell
Dear Members & Supporters,
As my term as the 2022-2023 Chapter President comes to an end, I find myself reflecting on the past year with a mix of emotions. It's incredible how quickly time has flown by, as all journeys tend to feel when they reach their conclusion. While in the midst of it all, the days can seem never-ending, but then suddenly, it's over. Throughout this journey, there have been numerous highs and lows, challenges and rewards. It has been a time of tremendous personal growth, but it has also been a time of making mistakes, for it is through our failures that we truly learn, correct our course, and emerge stronger. This pattern of growth, adaptation, and resilience continues, especially in roles that demand a substantial amount of effort and responsibility.
I take pride in the growth I've witnessed in myself and in the members I've had the privilege of working with. It's a bittersweet feeling to bid farewell to this role, and at times, it feels somewhat surreal. There's a part of me that still feels immersed in the responsibilities, and I often need to remind myself to "chill," as my son would say. Simultaneously, there's a sense of relief knowing that I will now have additional time to use as I see fit. Perhaps I'll take up a new hobby or revisit an old one, dedicating more time to my family. And then, as life unfolds, I'll rise once again to meet the challenge of pursuing another professional goal.
This experience has been nothing short of amazing, and I want to emphasize just how special the Sacramento chapter is. It has been an absolute honor to lead this chapter during the 2022-2023 term. I am immensely proud of everything we have accomplished this year; together, we have achieved truly remarkable things.
Thank you for your support, dedication, and hard work throughout this journey. As I step down from my role as Chapter President, I have no doubt that the future holds even greater achievements for our chapter. I look forward to witnessing the continued growth and success of the Sacramento chapter under new leadership.

Here is a recap of this year's accomplishments:
- Finalized and adopted our new accounting system; Billhighway
- Created an online payment option for annual sponsors and job postings
- Updated of our strategic plan & goals
- Hosted the Sacramento Region’s first back in-person K-12 panel event post COVID. As well as two other industry panels: Design Build & Progressive Design Build panel and a joint-venture Healthcare panel with AMFP and CMAA. Photo Gallery
- Hosted first ever joint golf event with AMA.
- Participated in and sponsored the SRBX CIEF Women in Construction Conference for the first time
- Started a chapter DEI group
- Had 55 members attend PRC in San Diego and gave away 7 stipends
- Updated our sponsor package, exceeded our annual sponsor goal and brought on new sponsors
- Continued the Pacific Regional CPSM program and had 3 members earn their CPSMs this term!
- Traveled to Reno to host a member happy hour
- Created a new monthly newsletter with more member info, sponsor spotlights, welcome section for new members and more to engage members & supporters
- Refreshed our website and increased traffic
- And added new members, increasing membership by 78% in the last two years!
